Episode 37 – Mill Creek Valley Project: Partnering With St. Louis CITY SC to Acknowledge Our Past and Envision a Better Future Together
Show Notes

Emma Klues, VP of Communications & Outreach at Great Rivers Greenway, and Khalia Collier, VP of Community Relations at St. Louis CITY SC, are on KTRS' The Big Sports Show talking with Brenden about the visionary partnership that is bringing to life a powerful public art installation along a one-mile stretch of the Brickline Greenway along Market Street from Harris-Stowe State University to the St. Louis CITY SC Stadium District. This art by St. Louis resident and nationally-acclaimed artist, Damon Davis’ will honor the former Mill Creek Valley neighborhood, a vibrant, predominantly Black neighborhood, that was demolished in 1959 in the name of “urban renewal”.
Part of this former neighborhood is where St. Louis CITY’s stadium is being built today. Hear more about the team’s role in this important project -- from hosting a significant portion of the installation on stadium property to its financial investment in the project to how it plans to integrate it into their fan experience -- to help acknowledge the truths or the past so we can envision a better way forward together, aligning with its commitment to being an exceptional club and neighbor.
